Spod is an Australian indie/electro band from Sydney's Inner West. The term Spod is simultaneously the name of the band and the pseudonym of the band's leader, whether he is performing solo or with other members. ==Biography== Spod began recording tracks in summer 1995, using a 4-track. Output was limited to homemade cassette tapes. On 5 October 2002, Spod headlined a concert at Thurles Castle in Chippendale, Sydney. Newtown's "the drunk and the legless" supported Spod on this occasion. In 2003, Spod released his first album, ''Taste the Radness'', via the Australian independent label, Shock Records. The album drew heavily upon electroclash and hip hop, and took its thematical inspiration from the cultural climate of Spod's hometown Ashfield. ''Taste the Radness'' saw input from Spod's backing dancers, vocalists and choreographers, Krylon and A-Blade (collectively, the SCORPIONZ), specifically on the track "2131 Ride Wit Me". This song was included on a 2004 edition of Australian ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's "New Sounds" cover CD. Following the release of the album, Spod toured extensively, including a position on the Sydney leg of Big Day Out 2004. As the year progressed, Spod began to augment his live line-up with members of the metal band Black Level Embassy. This live set-up led to the release of an EP, ''Eternal Championz'', in September 2004. The EP included metal reworkings of the traditional Spod tracks "Country of Sweden", "Secks Party 4 Eva" and "Makin' Party". "Nerdz" was played extensively on local radio stations, such as FBi Radio. The EP was recorded in the home of Regurgitator's Quan Yeomans. Spod and Regurgitator have collaborated on a number of occasions, including some joint gigs in 2004 (advertised as "ReSPODutator") and a collaboration recorded as part of Regurgitator's "Band in the Bubble" project in 2004. In 2007, Spod and Quan Yeomans formed a side project called BLOX.〔(Blox Discography on spakatak.com )〕 In March 2007, Spod played at the annual South by Southwest festival, in Austin, Texas, Spod's first performance outside Australia. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「SPOD (band)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
